Albums
Discovery

This 1987 release was then fourteen year-old Shanice Wilson's debut album and features classic R&B hits such as "No 1/2 Steppin" and "(Baby Tell Me)Can You Dance." Some other great songs off this album include "Do I Know You," "Just A Game" and "The Way You Love Me." Currently, this album is out of print so you may have to hunt for it at used record stores within your local area.

Inner Child

Shanice returned in 1991 with her second album "Inner Child" and with help from famed producer/songwriter Narada Michael Walden, struck gold with the smash hit single "I Love Your Smile." Also making guest appearances on this album include Branford Marsalis playing the sax on "I Love Your Smile" and Johnny Gill on "Silent Prayer."

21...Ways To Grow

In 1994, Shanice released what would be her final album for Motown Records which was titled "21...Ways To Grow." This was Shanice's coming-of-age album and came out shortly after her 21st birthday. My choice tracks include "Turn Down The Lights," "Don't Break My Heart," Somewhere," "I Wish," and the Diane Warren song, "Never Changing Love."

Shanice

After being out of the loop for almost 5 years, Shanice came back strong with her self-titled LaFace Records debut. The first single "When I Close My Eyes" broke a Billboard record by jumping from #91 to #16 on the Hot 100 chart in one week. So what are my favorite cuts off this album? All of them! I am dead serious! If you buy this album, you will not be disappointed because I certainly wasn't.

The Ultimate Collection

This compilation released by Hip-O/Universal features classic songs from Shanice's first three albums.

Every Woman Dreams

Soundtracks

Boomerang

  • Don't Wanna Love You

After "I Love Your Smile" blew up on the charts Shanice was then chosen to record the song "Don't Wanna Love You" for the movie soundtrack "Boomerang" which stars Eddie Murphy as a womanizing ladies man who finally gets a taste of his own medicine from his boss played by Robin Givens.

Beverly Hills 90210

  • Saving Forever For You

The demand for Shanice increases as she was asked to record "Saving Forever For You" for the Beverly Hills 90210 TV soundtrack. Like "I Love Your Smile," the song "Saving Forever For You" blows up on the Billboard charts and Shanice scores another top ten hit when the song peaks at number four!

Meteor Man

  • It's For You

While the movie "Meteor Man" didn't get very good reviews, at least the soundtrack had one funky track off of it which was "It's For You" by our favorite smiling sweet lady, Shanice! The video was even better which includes footage from the movie mixed in with Shanice dancing, singing and looking beautiful as always!

Panther

  • If I Were Your Woman

Awww yeah!!! Not only did Shanice record the Gladys Knight hit "If I Were Your Woman" for the soundtrack Panther, she also gets to make a cameo appearance in the movie singing the song too. My only complaint is that they didn't give her more screen time in that movie. What's up with that?

Pochahontas

  • If I Never Knew You

Shanice does a duet with Jon Secada on the song "If I Never Knew You" for the Disney animated movie Pochahontas.
